You’ve worked long and you’ve saved hard. So maybe you’re not too worried about running out of money in retirement. That’s a great place to be! But considering how uncertain life is (and has been the last couple of years), there are still likely other threats to your retirement that aren’t on your radar. And especially in our current climate, the last thing you want to feel uncertain about is your retirement savings.

Sometimes it is the most challenging moments in life that are the most formative. At least that was the case for me. I grew up in a family environment where financial worry was the norm. I watched as my mother struggled to navigate our family’s finances and make ends meet. As a result, I learned that if you have money problems, you have life problems, and a lack of resources often leads to a lack of choices.
